In Memoriam: Aditya Prakash,
1923-2008
Architect Aditya Prakash died on August 12, 2008. Prakash helped
define the characteristic visual identity of Chandigarh, India, as
a modern city by creating the "frame controls" of several of the
markets and housing types. In all, Aditya Prakash designed over 60
projects throughout northern India, including the Agricultural
Universities of Ludhiana, Hissar and Palampur. The Indian Institute
of Architects awarded him its Gold Medal in 1996.
